Gati Ltd, a member of the Allcargo Group and a leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions, has entered into a partnership with Tech Mahindra to create Gati Enterprise Management System (GEMS) 2.0.

Gati's primary operational software, GEMS 2.0, has been designed to provide an improved customer experience and a contemporary tech-driven interface while simultaneously enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.

Gati conveyed in a statement that this forward-looking software application is built upon Tech Mahindra's expertise and centres on cloud-native applications, reaffirming the organization's commitment to and investment in cutting-edge digital transformation and cloud initiatives.

The collaboration is centered on replacing Gati's outdated software with a digital, scalable, and more flexible cloud-based application, aimed at achieving operational excellence and the highest levels of customer satisfaction, as outlined in the statement.

Vivek Agarwal, President - APJI (Enterprise), Corporate Development at Tech Mahindra, stated, "The strategic utilization of advanced, data-driven technologies is at the heart of revolutionizing operational efficiency and customer engagement in the logistics and supply chain industry. Our partnership with Gati in the development of GEMS 2.0 will empower the organization to enhance productivity, unlock new business prospects, elevate performance, and lead the technological transformation narrative in the express logistics sector."

Over the next 18-24 months, Tech Mahindra will work on building GEMS 2.0 from scratch, covering all aspects of first-mile, mid-mile, and last-mile operations. The software will be modular, encompassing functions such as pick-up, delivery, en-route tracking, customer contracts, and invoicing, among others.

Pirojshaw Sarkari, MD and CEO of Gati Express and Supply Chain Pvt. Ltd., stated, "GEMS, which was introduced two decades ago, was a groundbreaking initiative in the logistics industry. This partnership represents a significant step forward in delivering operational excellence and an enhanced customer experience, aligning with Allcargo Group's ongoing efforts to empower Gati to achieve greater heights."

The architecture of GEMS 2.0 will be based on microservices and event-driven rule engines, with infrastructure development and deployment in the cloud, emphasizing a mobile-first and security-focused approach to ensure consistent performance across the company's operational footprint.

GEMS 2.0 will incorporate automation at various levels and extensively utilize data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). Furthermore, it will provide on-demand customization and a user-friendly experience compatible with multiple web browsers, thanks to its intuitive and consistent user interface and design.
