Mumbai, September 2015 - FairAct, an exhibition services company run by professionals with more than 50 years of exhibitions, events and publishing experience, has launched POWERELEC-EAST Expo, an exhibition of power, electrical and electronics industry, scheduled for February 21-23, 2015 at the Milan Mela Exhibition Complex, Kolkata. Organised by FairAct and supported by several trade organisation, the event seeks to explore the untapped potential of the Eastern and Northeastern regions, as well as to make efforts to bring the regions closer to the national stream.

According to the organisers, the strengths and weaknesses of the Eastern and North-Eastern regions of India are too well known. There is certainly a lot of untapped potential in the region, which needs to be explored. On the other hand, topography of the region and its distance from other regions, particularly in the case of North-Eastern Region, makes it difficult for the development to take place. Naturally, special efforts are needed to bring the regions closer to the national mainstream. POWERELEC-EAST Expo is one such small step in this direction by like-minded businesses.

The Eastern region and more specifically the North-Eastern India will be witnessing growth in the next few years with the Government of India providing the impetus with large funding. It is therefore the best time to explore and invest in the emerging market.

This is the first time an industry-specific exhibition on the sector is being held in this part of India and preliminary interaction with prospective exhibitors is very positive with encouraging response to the event from them.

The organisers are also making special efforts to invite key visitors, not only from this region but also from the rest of India and more importantly, neighbouring countries in the SAARC and ASEAN regions. Interesting events such as interactive programmes for utilities and user industries as well as B-to-B meetings are being planned on the sidelines of the exhibition.
