Entuple E-Mobility Pvt Ltd, a deep-tech electric powertrain and technology company, has been conferred the National Startup Award in the Urban Mobility Excellence category by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.

The award, instituted by Startup India under DPIIT, recognises startups driving innovation, sustainability and social impact, contributing to India’s growth journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Rakesh Mishra, Founder and CEO of Entuple E-Mobility, received the award from the Honourable Cabinet Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, during the 10th anniversary of National Startup Day, held on Friday, 16 January.

Commenting on the recognition, Rakesh Mishra said, “This validation demonstrates the dedication, innovation and relentless pursuit of excellence by every member of our Entuple family, including employees, shareholders, partners and well-wishers, in our journey.”

The Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, addressed the startup community during the ceremony. Emphasising the transformative role of startups, he said, “Startups are engines of change that are shaping the future of our economy and society. They are doing exceptional work in addressing the challenges our planet faces while generating opportunities for people. I am proud of each and every person who dared to dream big, challenged conventional norms, took risks and created a transformative impact through their startups.”

Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal recalled that when the Startup India initiative was launched in 2016, there were only around 400 startups in the country. Today, over 2,00,000 startups are registered with DPIIT, collectively generating an estimated 21 lakh jobs nationwide.

Entuple operates a dedicated 25,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Bengaluru for hub motor and mid-motor powertrains for two- and three-wheelers. These are built on indigenous EV motors and motor controllers, supported by fully in-house control algorithms and firmware developed without reliance on external licences or partnerships.

The company is also developing next-generation high-voltage motors, strengthening its power electronics R&D, and building new-generation intelligent motor controllers. In parallel, Entuple is expanding its powertrain development to four-wheelers, buses and trucks in the commercial vehicle segment.
