Electronics component manufacturers seek government support in Budget 2025

Electronics component manufacturers are calling for a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme in the upcoming Budget 2025 to boost their growth and competitiveness. Industry players believe such measures could help them break the cycle of reliance on government support that has historically constrained other Indian manufacturing sectors.

In addition to potential PLI incentives, the government is reportedly preparing a plan to encourage electronics manufacturing in Tier II towns. This initiative aims to decentralise production, foster job creation in smaller cities, and strengthen regional economies. Details of this strategy are expected to be unveiled during an upcoming meeting between state chief secretaries and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Industry leaders remain optimistic that with continued government backing and strategic initiatives, India’s electronics supply chain can achieve robust and sustainable growth in the coming years.
