Mumbai, February 21, 2013: Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers' Association (IEEMA), the apex association of electrical equipment manufacturers in India, has announced that ELECRAMA-2014 will be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from January 8th to 12th, 2014. The stall bookings are now open and the details are available on the Elecrama website - www.elecrama.com

Elecrama-2014, the 11th edition of the world's largest power transmission & distribution biennial confluence, will be held with the unique theme of 'GO GLOBAL' with a focus to showcase the global competitiveness of Indian products and the capability of Indian manufacturers to develop world class engineering products at competitive costs. Taking a quantum leap; Elecrama-2014 will be a generation ahead, in terms of core services, features and amenities -highest quality on par with international standards.

Mr J G Kulkarni, President - IEEMA speaking about Elecrama-2014 said, "The economic realities of the new millennium saw the balance of power shift from the west to the east and now moving on to the new world. A US$300 billion development thrust into the Indian power sector is a massive opportunity for E&E manufacturers covering the complete GTD cycle. The Indian industry is seeking partners to enhance technology and competency, build capacities and calibrate their proposition to compete on a global scale and Elecrama-2014 will serve to be the ideal platform for them to connect with the appropriate partners."

Mr Sanjeev Sardana, Chairman, Elecrama-2014 said, "Developing nations of the Middle East, Central Asia, West Asia and Africa are undertaking electrification vigorously through funding from multilateral agencies like the World Bank, African Development Bank and IMF. Indian products have immense opportunities for capturing these markets. I am confident that there will be deals sanctioned and contracts signed at Elecrama-2014 thereby significantly boosting the exports of Indian products to these countries."

Elecrama-2014 will have several events including the 'Utility Day' which is a transmission and distribution conclave wherein the top utility heads of the country as well as the neighboring countries will interact with the Indian electrical equipment manufacturers.

An 'International Commerce Day' has also been planned where top dignitaries from the Energy Ministries of foreign countries will address about infrastructure and electrical products required in their countries.

Elecrama-2014 will continue its commitment and vision of scouting new talent in the field of electrical and allied engineering. The continual focus on innovation and recognizing talent pays manifold in directing young energies into seeking new, improved and sustainable solutions of today's and tomorrow's problems and needs.

Mr Aditya Dhoot, Vice Chairman, Elecrama-2014 said, "Our endeavour is to ensure that all aspects of the sector are comprehensively covered at Elecrama-2014. But going beyond that, we are also looking to encourage young and talented students and encourage them to be innovative in their work. This will help the industry tackle the shortfall on skilled manpower effectively." It is proposed to hold various sessions on skill development during the event.

The Student pavilion and the innovation recognition platform of 'ENGINEER INFINITE' will enthuse the youth into exploring careers in the industry and also offer a peerless platform for industry-student interaction and a readymade technology showcase - both in incubation and global product releases.

Mr Vishal Gakhar, Director General, IEEMA speaking about Elecrama-2014 said, "BIEC, India's premier international exhibition-cum-conference facility, is best suited for an exhibition of this stature and magnitude. It offers exhibitors services and amenities of the highest quality at par with international standards. BIEC complements its 40,000 sq.m of covered space in three aesthetically and functionally designed exhibition halls, with added scope for open display area, perfectly suited for showcase of large and heavy machines."

Keeping in line with the growing trends and needs, Elecrama-2014 is offering an exclusive showcase for newer technology that is closer to end users - Home Automation. A dedicated hall has been envisaged to accommodate exhibitors who are exclusively catering to an audience which focuses more on home automation and low voltage electricals. This area is bound to attract players from the user level extension of the smart grid ecosystem namely energy conservation, home intelligence, security and allied electronic solutions.
