Eaton to establish state-of-the-art Innovation Centre in Pune

Pune, April 2016 – Power management company Eaton has announced its decision to establish a global innovation centre in India over a state-of-the-art 390,000 sq.ft facility at Magarpatta City in Pune.

The establishment of the new Eaton India Innovation Centre (EIIC) is a strategic program that is focused on enhancing organisational capabilities by leveraging high-end engineering talent and best-in-class infrastructure. EIIC will create a vertically integrated engineering organisation that will deliver complete product design lifecycle management solutions for Eaton’s global businesses. The incubation centre of the EIIC is operational from April 2016.

Sudhakar Potukuchi, vice president – Technology, will head the EIIC. Commenting on the significance of the EIIC, Eaton’s executive vice president and chief technology officer, Ram Ramakrishnan said, “The EIIC will be an integral part of Eaton’s global engineering footprint. The establishment of this center is in line with Eaton’s commitment to achieving global technology leadership through its focus on innovation.”

“We believe in helping our customers address their most critical power management challenges. We deliver technologies that help our customers across the globe manage power more efficiently, sustainably and safely in buildings, aircrafts, trucks, cars, machinery and businesses,” Ram added.

Highlighting the opportunities that the EIIC brings in for the engineering talent in India, Sudhakar Potukuchi said, “The combination of virtual and physical labs at the EIIC shall provide engineers an opportunity to significantly enhance their engineering experience and capabilities, and thus, deliver greater value to our customers.”
