Daikin unveils state-of-the-art manufacturing hub in in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh

In a significant stride towards advancing its growth trajectory, Daikin Air-conditioning India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Daikin Industries, has officially opened its integrated air-conditioning and compressor manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Masanori Togawa, President & CEO of Daikin Industries Limited, Japan; Yasushi Yamada, Senior Executive Officer of DIL, Japan; Nivruti Rai, Managing Director & CEO of Invest India; and Sujan Chinoy, Director General MP? IDSA & Former Indian Ambassador to Japan. Kanwaljeet Jawa, Chairman & Managing Director of Daikin India, was also present at the event.

This strategic move underscores Daikin's steadfast dedication to cutting-edge technology, sustainable practices, and the promotion of regional growth. The newly established plant, sprawling over 75.5 acres, reaffirms Daikin's commitment to excellence and innovation. Positioned strategically, the facility is geared to meet the growing demand for state-of-the-art air conditioning products manufactured in India, serving both the domestic and international markets.

Daikin holds a prominent role as the principal investor in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) program for air-conditioning, a government initiative aimed at boosting domestic production. KJ Jawa, Chairman & Managing Director of Daikin India, expressed, "The commercialisation of our new manufacturing plant in Sri City is a momentous occasion for Daikin. This facility will not only enhance our production capabilities but will also strengthen our position as a leading provider of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions in the region."

Highlighting Daikin's significant role in the PLI scheme, Jawa added, "This expansion marks a pivotal moment in our journey, poised to make a significant contribution to Daikin's continued success in the country and fostering long-term partnerships that drive mutual success."

Masanori Togawa, President & CEO of Daikin Industries, emphasised the special importance of India in Daikin's global vision, stating, "As we expand our manufacturing footprint in India, we reemphasise the importance of India in Daikin?s global vision. The country's dynamic market and skilled workforce align perfectly with our mission."

The state-of-the-art facility, equipped with cutting-edge technology, adheres to Daikin's high standards for quality and sustainability. This facility, inaugurated ahead of schedule, underscores Daikin's commitment to timely delivery and efficiency.

Furthermore, Daikin's commitment to sustainability is evident in the facility's design, aligning with the company's goal to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The plant is dedicated to developing climate-friendly air conditioning solutions for various markets, including West Africa, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, the Middle East, South America, and East Africa.
