Coimbatore-based agricultural pumpset manufacturer CRI Pumps has launched a new range of industrial pumps. The new range of pumps will cater to paper and pulp, chemical, mining and mineral processing industries. With the help of these products, the company is targeting 10 percent market share in the segment.

"We will be providing a better value for money alternative to the existing products in this segment, mostly supplied by multinational companies, with better after sales spares and service support," said Chaitanya Koranne, CEO, Industrial Solutions Division, C.R.I.

The company acquired the pumps business of UK-based Pumps & Process Systems in October this year and the newly launched pumps are based on the technology from the acquired firm. Koranne said, "These pumps are the first among the several new pumps planned by the company in the near term."

These pumps are designed for high efficiency, solid handling capacity and low maintenance. Greater Wear life, ease of maintenance and higher interchangeability across different models ensures better performance at lower lifetime costs. All the models are designed for vertical as well as horizontal configuration and can be customised to specific customer requirements. ECP series is specifically used in handling Paper, Pulp and process liquors, effluents, dyes and chemicals and almost all other corrosive fluids in Cement, Chemical, Dyes, Pharma, Paints, food and beverage and several other industries.

ECH series, on the other hand can handle highly erosive and corrosive fluids with suspended solids and slurries, typically in Heavy duty mining, Mineral processing, Steel, Aluminum and other metals manufacturing, coal slurry handling, fly ash handling in Power plants, cement handling and all other industries that require abrasive slurries and suspended slurries handling.

The company has also recently established a global research center -- Fludyne Advanced Technology Centre in Coimbatore. More than 100 engineers are working with the latest design tools and a state-of-the-art prototyping and testing facilities at the centre to bring out a wider range of products in the market.
