Clean Mobility Solution India, a subsidiary of the Swedish electric vehicle (EV) company Clean Motion, has announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Pune for localising and producing its flagship product, the Zbee electric passenger three-wheeler within India.

The company intends to manufacture the Zbee in India for global export. Additionally, Clean Mobility Solution India will develop a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure with operational clusters equipped with parking, plug-in chargers, and swappable batteries, designed to support 20-25 Zbee vehicles in fleet operations.

To boost its operations in India, Clean Motion has secured a $ 1 million investment from Finvolve, a joint venture between India Accelerator and Finolutions, with an additional $ 3-5 million earmarked for further expansion over the next two years. The company's strategic focus includes enhancing first and last-mile services, connecting pivotal locations like metro stations, malls, colleges, and offices.

The Zbee boasts an impressive range of nearly 80km on a single full charge and accommodates up to three individuals, including the driver. Developed by Clean Motion in Sweden, the Zbee reflects a collaborative effort aimed at tackling climate change challenges and rethinking transportation solutions, as highlighted by Jan Thesleff, Ambassador, Sweden to India.

Deb Mukherji from Clean Mobility Solution India expressed gratitude for the confidence placed by investors such as India Accelerator and Finvolve, underscoring their commitment to bolstering India's 'Make-In-India' initiative and positioning the company as a leader in global urban mobility transportation. Plans are underway to secure an additional pre-series funding round of $ 3-5 million early next year to advance their scaling objectives.
