BXL Enterprise is eyeing entry into Europe and Americas: Abhishek Bohra

The Mumbai-based BXL Enterprise offers a very wide variety of limit switches used across industries. In this interview, Abhishek Bohra, CEO, BXL Enterprise, explains why the company is a valuable partner for international companies looking to source from India.

Can you give us a brief introduction to BXL Enterprise?
BXL Enterprise is our new management identity that has emerged from the cocoon of quality and reliability spun by the founding team of Bohmen Industries (our firm’s former name) and subsequent members. Our core product line of limit switches or position switching devices, under our brand “BOHMEN” has a strong association with reliable performance across all types of industries, in India and abroad.

We can design, develop and produce customised devices for specific applications/processes besides offering bulk production capabilities of industry standard devices.

What differentiates your electromechanical switching devices from competitors?
BOHMEN offers a very wide variety of limit switches covering most applications, material requirements and contact functions. Our products provide reliable switching performance over years saving critical downtime costs and production losses.

What are the primary industries driving demand for your products?
We are seeing sustained growth in core sectors like construction machineries, conveyor systems, rail coach building, die moulds, elevators, power equipment, boilers and many more. Our products are very attractive to global setups, provided we up the ante, in all aspects, whether economic or aesthetic. Our designs focus on both to compete with the world’s best.

How significant is exports to BXL’s overall business?
Exports are necessary for maximising value addition on our products and for understanding what the modern manufacturers seek in their newer developments. We have a few customers in Asia & Africa, but are seeking entry into Europe and the Americas with our products.

What are BXL’s key strengths that set it apart from competitors?
Our focussed product line helps us in catering to bulk buying majors who are leaders in their respective industries. We aim to excel in a niche field. Our experienced team sources the best quality raw materials at competitive prices, while in-house tool development helps in containing manufacturing costs, thereby ensuring component level reliability that leads to final product reliability.

Are you seeing India emerging as a major sourcing destination for global companies?
Indian culture of frugal practices, coupled with knowledgeable teams adopting global processes, has created a solid base of manufacturers that are able to communicate, understand and achieve the required parameters of any global product or service. We can help add value to global supply chains in fast, efficient and simple ways than most other emerging nations.

What emerging trends do you see in the industry?
A keen focus on safety in industrial automation is helping us capitalise on our product and knowledge base to grow organically. We are extending our product range to match international standards and are open to technical collaboration with interested entities.

What are your expansion plans?
We will invest in modern machineries that will help us achieve a global product aesthetic. We have established a vendor group with automated machining lines for fast and consistent components. We are exploring the possibility of ATEX certification for our products to cater to hazardous area applications. A number of elevator majors are exporting their equipment’s fitted with our switches. We are tapping into the elevator industries globally to secure some long term customers as well.
