VIIT Pune has joined hands with National Instruments to launch a unique program that blends a learning model with hands-on experience.

Considering that engineering institutes are often criticised for not preparing students for the realties faced on the production floor and in terms of management, the Department of Electronics & Telecommunication at the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune has now launched a 'LabView Academy Program' that uses a blended learning model combining face-to-face teaching with engaging content and hands-on lab exercises. This model prepares students for the demands of industry and higher education in engineering, computer science and related fields.

The program was recently inaugurated by Bharat Agarwal, Managing Trustee, VIIT and has been designed in collaboration with National Instruments (NI), a company engaged in providing test, measurement and embedded systems for engineers and scientists. NI's graphical system design approach provides an integrated software and hardware platform that simplifies development of any system that needs measurement and control. Engineers and scientists use this platform from design to production in multiple industries, advanced research and academia.

Elaborating about the LabView program, Agarwal said, "It is a system design software that provides engineers and scientists with the tools needed to create and deploy measurement and control systems through unprecedented hardware integration. The learning model combines interesting content that is taught partly face-to-face and partly as hands-on lab exercises. It accelerates productivity by inspiring you to find answers to your problems and thus builds your confidence to innovate continuously. Its applications are enormous - from embedded monitoring and control systems to automating test and validation systems to academic teaching and more."
