Bonfiglioli Transmissions, the Indian arm of the globally renowned Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., a leading player in power transmission and drive solutions, marked the inauguration of its state-of-the-art assembly facility in Pune. Spanning 42,500 square meters, the facility, which became operational on November 29, boasts advanced technology and real-time smart assembly processes within an environmentally sustainable and employee-friendly setting. Nearly 80% of the plant's energy needs are met through solar power.

With the new facility now fully operational, the company aims to enhance its services to markets in the western region, catering to more than 20 sectors in discrete manufacturing and process industries. The expanded facility is designed to provide a diverse range of customized products, reduce lead times, and offer swift delivery timelines owing to increased proximity.

Kennady V Kaippally, Country Manager of Bonfiglioli India, emphasised the company's commitment to supporting industrial development in India, particularly in the context of Industry 4.0 operations. He highlighted the strategic importance of the western region as a high-growth market, prompting the expansion of the assembly facility in Pune to meet evolving market demands.

Kaippally noted, "The new facility has the highest standards of quality and safety, consistent with other Bonfiglioli locations worldwide. It is a hi-tech, real-time smart assembly facility that will help us introduce a wide range of products to 20-odd verticals."

Following the commencement of operations at the new facility, Bonfiglioli Transmissions has increased its workforce, hiring skilled staff and technicians. Established in India since 1998, the company currently operates three production facilities—two in Chennai and one in Pune. It is a market leader in gear motors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes, and inverters, serving industrial automation, mobile machinery, and renewable energy applications.

Fausto Carboni, Group CEO of Bonfiglioli S.p.A., expressed that the Pune facility signifies a leap forward in their dedication to cutting-edge and customer-centric solutions. Carboni emphasised the company's commitment to exceeding market demands and solidifying its position as a leader in Power Transmission and Drive Solutions in the local market.

Sonia Bonfiglioli, Chairwoman of Bonfiglioli S.p.A., reflected on the company's journey in India, expressing pride in the growth from a vast empty land 25 years ago to an exceptional company with innovative facilities and a motivated team. She acknowledged the hard work of the team and the significance of inaugurating a new innovative plant, marking a remarkable journey of progress.
