BN Group to build India’s largest oleo chemical plant; eyes Rs 250 bn revenue

Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

BN Holdings Ltd, the parent of BN Group, has forayed into the specialty and oleo chemical sector through its subsidiary, Epitome Industries India Limited, which is setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant near Kandla Port, Gujarat. Once operational, it will be India’s largest oleo chemical facility, reinforcing the nation’s industrial base and supporting the Make in India vision with a focus on sustainability.

With this venture, BN Group aims to almost triple its consolidated revenue to Rs 250 billion within the next two years, from the current Rs 90 billion. The plant will produce a wide range of oleo and specialty chemicals for personal care, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, food, and industrial sectors. Serving both domestic and international markets, it will help position India as a global hub for sustainable chemical production.

The project marks one of the largest planned investments in India’s specialty chemical sector, valued at Rs 12 billion. It is expected to create 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in Gujarat, significantly contributing to the local economy.

Anubhav Agarwal, Founder of BN Group, said, “This is a landmark moment for us. With Epitome Industries at the helm of this high-growth sector, we are building not just a plant but India’s largest oleo chemical hub. This facility will embody scale, sustainability, and innovation, generating opportunities for Gujarat and setting fresh benchmarks for the industry. Our focus is long-term value creation for stakeholders while driving industrial growth and future-ready manufacturing.”

India’s oleochemicals market is projected to reach $ 2.77 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 8.5 per cent between 2024 and 2030, fuelled by the global shift towards bio-based, sustainable chemical solutions. With this mega facility, BN Group aims to capture a significant share of this growth while expanding its domestic and export presence. This development aligns with the Group’s strategy of building impactful businesses across sectors, following the success of Nutrica in the health and wellness segment.

BN Group, active in FMCG, edible oils, and specialty chemicals, entered the edible oil sector in 2011 and has since become one of India’s top producers of indigenous vegetable cooking oils, operating modern facilities in and beyond Kandla Port. Under the leadership of Founder Anubhav Agarwal, the Group is broadening its FMCG portfolio while venturing into high-potential specialty chemical markets.
