Belden Inc, a global provider of network infrastructure and digitisation solutions, has achieved a significant milestone in its Indian operations with the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune district.

The expansion adds 19,000 square meters to the company's existing footprint, and Belden has invested approximately $40 million (Rs 330 crore) in this expansion.

This investment is geared towards solidifying Belden's presence in both domestic and international markets. The phase 2 expansion of the Chakan plant is poised to become a central hub for delivering high-quality products in network infrastructure solutions worldwide, according to the company.

As industrial, broadcast, and enterprise markets in India undergo remarkable growth, Belden's expansion strategically aligns with the unique opportunities presented. The company emphasises its commitment to sourcing raw materials locally, reinforcing its dedication to 'Made in India for the World.' Dr Ashish Chand, President and CEO, stated, "With the strategic establishment of this facility, we not only strengthen our domestic roots but also envision it as a pivotal export hub."
