Ashok Leyland sets up all-women production line at Hosur

To promote women empowerment and attract women towards manufacturing, flagship company of Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland set up an all-women production line at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.
In a significant step for women in the manufacturing industry, Hinduja Group’s company, Ashok Leyland, launched a new ‘All Women production Line’ with 100 per cent women employees at the Hosur plant. The country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer took the step to promote women empowerment and attract more women to the manufacturing industry. The line has 80 women employees at the Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.
The company says that they have made the effort to build a more diverse workforce. The company invested significantly to train and upskill its women employees in core manufacturing skills and they will be responsible for the entire production of the new engine line.

Giving women these opportunities enhance not only their lives but also the lives of their families and the community. The new P15 Engine Module (assembly and testing) is established in H1 Unit to address the growing demand for LCV products. This new line has a capacity of 62,000 engines per annum and will be operating in two shifts.
