Ammann India Starts ARW 65 Roller Production at Mehsana

Ammann India has commenced production of the ARW 65 Walk Behind Roller at its manufacturing facility in Mehsana. The inauguration was led by Hans Christian Schneider, Global CEO, Ammann Group, and Dheeraj Panda, MD, Ammann India, along with the senior leadership team.

The move strengthens Ammann India’s focus on localised manufacturing and expands its compaction equipment portfolio to support India’s growing urban and infrastructure development requirements. The ARW 65 will be produced locally in line with Ammann’s global engineering standards and advanced manufacturing processes to deliver reliable, high-performance compaction solutions suited to Indian site conditions.

The ARW 65 is designed for smaller and confined construction sites. With a working width of 650 mm, it functions as a 2-in-1 roller, offering high amplitude for soil and gravel compaction and low amplitude for asphalt applications. It is powered by diesel engines from Kohler or Yanmar and features a fully hydraulic drive system that eliminates belts and clutches, reducing maintenance and enhancing reliability.

The machine includes a 60-litre water tank with an integrated sprinkler system for asphalt applications. Additional features comprise hydrostatic eccentric adjustment with two force levels, enhanced ergonomics, and documented safety measures such as a dead-man handle and integrated park brake.

With an operating weight of approximately 694 kg and a maximum centrifugal force of up to 23 kN, the ARW 65 is suited for pavement repairs, pathway construction, landscaping, and urban infrastructure projects.

The Mehsana facility has an annual production capacity of 150 units and supports 90 per cent localisation.

Commenting on the development, Hans Christian Schneider said, “India is a strategically vital market for Ammann, and our commitment here goes far beyond introducing globally proven technologies. Our focus is on localising these innovations through engineering solutions tailored to India’s operating conditions, customer expectations, and infrastructure goals. The commencement of ARW 65 production in India aligns with our long-term commitment to localised manufacturing and engineering excellence.”

Dheeraj Panda added, “Ammann India remains focused on supporting the country’s accelerated infrastructure growth, particularly as the sector benefits from strong policy momentum, increased government investment, and the Make in India initiative. The commencement of ARW 65 production reflects our vision to combine world-class technology with localised manufacturing to deliver productive, reliable, and sustainable compaction solutions. This milestone demonstrates how targeted investments in Indian manufacturing can enhance efficiency, quality, and long-term value for customers executing infrastructure and urban development projects across the country.”

The ARW 65 Walk Behind Roller will be available in the Indian market from April, supported by Ammann India’s nationwide sales and service network.
