Amazon India has joined forces with electric mobility provider Gentari Green Mobility India to roll out a fleet of 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs) for last-mile deliveries by 2025.

As part of this strategic partnership, Gentari will handle the procurement and deployment of these EVs over the next three years. The company will also provide comprehensive fleet management services to Amazon’s Delivery Service Partners (DSPs), ensuring smooth operations and maintenance of the EVs.

The collaboration will enhance access to electric three-wheelers for Amazon’s delivery network. "We aim to empower our delivery partners with the right electric vehicles and full lifecycle management, including charging and parking solutions," said Abhinav Singh, VP- Operations, Amazon India.

By the end of 2023, Amazon India had already deployed over 7,200 EVs and is on track to meet its target of 10,000 EVs by 2025. Operating in 400 cities across India, the company views this partnership as a step towards a greener future. "This collaboration will support India’s net-zero goals and drive progress in the transportation sector," stated Nikhil Thomas, CEO, Gentari Green Mobility India.

Gentari Green Mobility India supports its EV initiatives with a broad network of charging points, Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) subscriptions, and tailored value-added services.
