With Rs 48,000 crore invested in smart cities, demand for electronic security products is expected to zoom. Against this background, the 12th edition of IFSEC India will be held in New Delhi where over 300 companies will display their latest technology.
 
In a bid to make the country truly modern and secure, India has till date invested around Rs 48,000 crores for its Smart City initiative that aims to create at least 100 smart cities in India. Owing to these factors, it comes as no surprise that the electronic security market in India is expected to witness a tremendous growth with a projected CAGR of nearly 13 per cent over the next decade.
 
Over 20 countries, 300 domestic players with a clear view point to gain business will showcase their evolving technologies at the 12th edition of IFSEC India, South Asia’s largest security exhibition on civil protection and fire safety organised by UBM India, will be commence at Pragati Maidan in the capital from December 5-7, 2018 catering to all the concerns regarding cyber security and surveillance.
The expo is supported by of Asian Professional Security Association (APSA), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Electronic Security Association of India (ESAI), Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) among others, showcase the variety of equipments to ensure an authorized surveillance.
 
The show will see participation from countries such as UK, USA, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Korea, Russia and will bring together many domestic and globally renowned brands. With key government officials, consultants and business experts as visitor of the expo will also include professional CSOs, Admin Heads, CIOs, CTOs, Facility Heads, Purchase Managers, System Integrators and Dealers & Distributors of organizations.
 
Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India, said, “The South Asia region, which the IFSEC India Expo brings within its radar, is a vulnerable as well as a progressive zone with ongoing threats to homeland security, rising urbanisation, proliferating crimes, and low people-to-police ratio being some of the most significant factors. The Government of India recognizes this vulnerability and has introduced strict regulations and guidelines that promote the use of security and surveillance in the country - the security of children within school premises, and the growing need for women’s safety being noteworthy instances.”

Pre-emptive Policing with AI

It will recall as soon as it is required. Therefore, children if they forget their ID card at home or keep it in the bag will be tracked. Similarly, young office goers who may not be happy with constant calling by parents can keep them updated. It has a vast area and covering every bit of security aspect. However, technology is ever-growing. We are working towards advancing us every day.”
 
Things as GPS based monitored cabs, transport vehicles with panic buttons and SMS alerts will be covered with such advance software, information systems have reached to another level with AI in place. The latest software will also monitor risk assessment of the neighboring areas. Technology is now there to ascertain that stringent measures are in place to mitigate any security risk. Advanced mobile applications on employee phones for increased tracking and safety measures are also in place, industry experts claimed.
Speaking about it, Yogesh Mudra, organiser IFSec said, “When it comes to security at public place and within the office premises, latest technology has taken the pre-emptive policing to a different level for the good. It is the need these days at work places that help boost business with such aspects taken into consideration.”
 
Ensuring children’s security
Today, security of children has become a big issue. Surveillance is an option. However, in schools, while in transit how to ensure the safety of children without compromising on the privacy of the children and their families also need to be considered.
The IFSEC exhibition will showcase the modern equipment and tools to ensure the security cover that would not breach privacy of individual students, schools, families and other stake holders in the process.
