Cooper Corporation launches emission certified Gas Generators from 10KVA-25KVA

Cooper Corporation, one of IndiaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s leading engine manufacturers is amongst the first in the industry to get approval from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to develop a series of gas generator sets (gensets) ranging from 10 KVA Ã¢â‚¬â€œ 25 KVA, that are certified to be compliant with the new mass emission norms being administered by the Central Pollution Control Board in India.

Cooper Corporation, one of India’s leading engine manufacturers is amongst the first in the industry to get approval from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) to develop a series of gas generator sets (gensets) ranging from 10 KVA – 25 KVA, that are certified to be compliant with the new mass emission norms being administered by the Central Pollution Control Board in India. The amended rules mandate all manufacturers, importers or assemblers of generator sets in India to comply with the cleaner emission standards. With the revised Central Pollution Control Board’s norms, Cooper Corporation is all set to deliver gensets in the Natural Gas/LPG variants along with the existing portfolio of diesel gensets which comply with the new guidelines.

Cooper engines which are at the forefront of contemporary technology has now added these gas gensets to their portfolio, ushering in an era of clean back-up/prime power in the country. Cooper Corporation in the coming months will be launching ARAI certified Gas engines powering Generators up to 250 KVA. These engines are specially designed for use with Natural Gas/ LPG as against other retrofit options. Besides substantially lower emissions, these gensets offer the benefit of lower operating costs and significantly lower sound level. These gensets come as a boon to the power-starved consumers, especially in the Delhi / NCR belt, which are reeling under severe air pollution.

Commenting on the deed, Mr. Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman and Managing Director, Cooper Corporation Pvt. Cooper Corp’s Gas Gensets will find utility and takers in homes, farmhouses, bungalows, hotels, retail outlets, IT offices, telecom towers and hospitals among others. These gas gensets will be produced at company’s Satara plant and will be made available through its widest sales and service networks comprising more than 80 dealers with over 200 touch points nationally.

The engine business contributes 15% of Copper’s total turnover, growing at a CAGR of over 25% in the medium term (3 to 5 years). The company also exports engines & gensets to overseas markets like South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Ukraine & Central America.
