Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd (BFW), one of the leading manufacturers of machine tools in India, has opened a smart manufacturing facility in Hosur (Tamil Nadu). “The positive long-term economic indicators and our strategy led us to initiate the creation of this new facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The first phase is spread across 35,000 sqft which include significant numbers of modern mother machines to enable integration of existing foundry facility with machining capability. The second phase will expand to 60,000 sq ft. These facilities will double the machine building capacity of BFW,” said the company in a press release. 
 
The new manufacturing facility is built with smart manufacturing technology in the path towards becoming the Industry 4.0 compliant.
Established in 1961, BFW has been supporting the growth of the Indian industry by creating the machine tools, which are used to build other machines that manufacture final products. BFW has five distinct product divisions - foundry, mother machines, testing & inspection, spindle manufacturing, and design facilities - which build different product lines. It offers the most comprehensive range of contact-based metal cutting machines. BFW aims to be among the top twenty machine-tool manufacturers globally by 2020 by setting next-generation standards of excellence & technology leadership.
