In this interview, Dharmendra Bhatia, Managing Director, The Daylight Industries, highlights on the growing market of high-quality, eco-friendly products in India.

Kindly brief us about your company and its offerings

Founded in 1956 and based in Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Daytone is India's most popular and trusted stationery brand and the leading manufacturer and exporter. Our products include writing ink, printing ink, office products, school stationery, art materials, and imaging products. We give a high focus on innovation, quality, and leading-edge technology.

How is your company serving the needs of its customers? Which end-user industries is driving demand for your products/solutions?

Since our company started out the journey of selling, we have been dedicated to improving the experience of the customers. We provide one-of-a-kind high-quality stationery products that are easy to use, ethically produced, sustainable, and pocket-friendly. We understand the problems and requirements of artists, creatives, industrialists, firms, and even students - and provide just the most-fitted stationery solutions for them. You would find our products everywhere, from packaging industries to study-tables of school students!

How is Daytone providing solutions to overcome the challenges faced by your customers?

The challenge we hear about the most these days is that the consumers have to deal with the recent world shift of companies degrading their quality to maintain the price equilibrium - which ends up eventually hampering the experience of the user. Our company has always had quality as our number one ethos and we will never compromise with it.

What are your growth plans for the company?

We have a lot of new products coming up, and we are excited about entering this new phase of Daytone. We have had the honour of getting high-recognition from artists for products that were never intended for them - but now we are at the brink of entering the art world by launching products suited for both, artists and people, mostly students, who are learning art.

What are emerging trends in the industry?

We feel with the growing understanding of environmental changes – sustainability is something we have seen grown into a trend. Our brand has always been committed to this cause, by providing only cardboard outer packaging, and reusable plastic that can even be recycled post usage. We are still committed to improving and going towards a more eco-friendly brand.

Can MP government’s goal of making the state a $ 550 billion economy by 2026 be achieved?

Most definitely; there is nothing that cannot be achieved.
