Zetwerk and SMILE to unveil new IT hardware factories in India

Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses and SMILE Electronics have partnered to establish three new IT hardware factories in India. The new facilities will be located in Devanahalli near Bengaluru, Chennai, and Andhra Pradesh, expanding SMILE's footprint to four factories with Zetwerk, including their existing Bengaluru site.

The Devanahalli factory will feature automated production lines for desktops, laptops, energy meters, and remote controls. Zetwerk has committed Rs 10 billion to enhance electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) capabilities in India.

SMILE, which has recently received government IT hardware Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, will bolster its presence in South India. Zetwerk will leverage this partnership to strengthen its expertise in IT hardware production, complementing its existing factories in North India that cater to various electronic devices.

Both companies aim to boost the domestic electronics sector, create job opportunities, and contribute to India's growth as a global manufacturing hub.
