Cytiva Expands Fast Trak Bioprocessing Facility in Bengaluru

Cytiva, a Danaher Corporation company and a leader in the life sciences industry, has inaugurated an expanded Fast Trak process development (PD) and validation services facility in Bengaluru, India. The centre will support biopharma companies in India and across Asia-Pacific in shortening development timelines, reducing manufacturing risk, and scaling operations as India targets a USD 300 billion bioeconomy by 2030.

The ~30,000 sq ft facility integrates upstream and downstream process development, optimisation, scale-up, and validation services within a single location. It also provides immersive training to equip customers with the expertise required to accelerate their molecule-to-market journey.

Pierre-Alain Ruffieux, Chief Operating Officer, Cytiva, said: ‘India’s scientific strength plays a vital role in global biopharma, and this facility reinforces that momentum. By expanding our capabilities here, we’re giving customers the infrastructure to move from idea to impact with greater speed, reliability, and excellence.’

Manoj Panicker, General Manager, Cytiva South Asia, said: ‘This facility will enable our customers to innovate faster while maintaining complete control of their processes—improving access to life-saving medicines. This is especially critical for rare diseases, emerging modalities, and the growing biosimilars market, where speed and flexibility are essential.’

According to Cytiva’s 2025 Biopharma Index, 56 per cent of global biopharma executives expect domestic manufacturing of biologics to increase significantly over the next three years. This trend is evident in India, where demand for biologics and biosimilars is rising, increasing the need for local expertise aligned with global quality standards.

The Fast Trak India facility operates in a GLP-compliant biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) environment. Its PD solutions support single-use bioreactor scale-up to 200L and enable production of toxicity batch material for preclinical stages. The ISO-certified validation laboratory provides specialised testing and documentation for sterilising-grade filters and single-use systems.

By offering integrated services aligned with sustainability best practices, Cytiva enables customers to increase yield, enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing time and cost, and maintain regulatory compliance. This approach provides biotechs with infrastructure and expertise to accelerate progress from early development to commercialisation.
