The Association of Indian Forging Industry (AIFI) has launched the GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum, a groundbreaking platform designed to nurture the next generation of business leaders in India's forging sector. This initiative aims to support young entrepreneurs in navigating a rapidly evolving industrial landscape that demands innovation, sustainability, and adaptability.

India's economy has grown at an average rate of 7.2% over the past three fiscal years, with industries increasingly adopting disruptive technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, and fintech. The GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum represents AIFI's proactive approach to this transformation, recognising the potential of the next generation in family-owned forging businesses to drive global change.

Yash Munot, President of AIFI, shared, "The GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum is more than just a platform; it's a movement designed to shape the future of the Indian forging industry. Our goal is to establish Indian forging as a global leader in innovation, quality, and sustainability. Through this forum, we aim to empower young entrepreneurs with insights, leadership training, and global exposure, helping them address challenges such as succession, outdated business models, and fostering collaboration for sustained growth and competitiveness."

The forum offers young entrepreneurs a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, leadership development, and alignment with global trends. Its activities include strategic sessions, academic collaborations, policy discussions, and visits to innovation hubs. The first event in Hyderabad featured a visit to the CII-Godrej Green Business Centre and a leadership workshop led by renowned innovation strategist Dr. Rahul More.

Ankit Mehta, Director of KLM Forge Pvt. Ltd., Pune, commented, “In today’s dynamic industrial environment, collaboration and innovation are essential. The GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum allows young forgers like myself to engage with peers, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest forging technologies shaping our industry.”

Future activities will include collaborations with young leaders from diverse industries, leadership programmes with top academic institutions, overseas study missions, and capacity-building initiatives on cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and ESG frameworks. The forum is set to become a key platform for shaping the future of India's forging industry through continuous learning and forward-thinking.

Sivarjun Rachamallu, GM of Rachamallu Forgings Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, added, “It is an honour to be part of the GenNext Entrepreneurs Forum, an initiative that fosters fresh perspectives and seasoned expertise. The forum’s focus on technology, sustainability, and progressive industry policies is crucial to driving positive transformation in the forging sector.”

This initiative supports AIFI’s vision of positioning India's forging industry as a global leader in manufacturing excellence, innovation, and sustainability. By emphasising skill development, strategic advocacy, and collaborative growth, AIFI remains committed to empowering the sector and driving its transformation on the global stage.
