There is big potential for quality-driven, innovative firms

Esbee Electrotech is a market leader in industrial products, switches and solutions. The company’s push buttons, stations and LED indicators are one of a kind in the Indian market. The company showcased its innovative products and solutions at Hannover Messe 2023 (HM23), Germany. In this conversation, Vijay Chordiya, Managing Director, Esbee Electrotech, shares that the company’s products are innovation-driven and cater to industry requirements.

Can you brief us about Esbee Electrotech?

Esbee Electrotech was established in India in India in 1974. It is a pioneer in industrial products, switches and solutions for the white goods industry, as well as safety products for elevators. Our product range includes LED panel lights, tube lights, indicators, lighting solutions, and signal units, industrial push button actuators, enclosures, switches, sockets. The products have varied applications. They are widely used in control panels, and heavy equipment manufacturing by OEMs and also covers elevator range.

What are the major highlights at Hannover Messe 2023?

Our endeavour has always been to develop products which meet the market expectations. We don’t follow copy-paste mechanism. All our products are innovative and in-house conceptualised. Our prima facie objective is to be in alignment with industry desires. At Hannover Messe, we are showcasing smarter solutions enabling industry 4.0. The general approach companies follow is to add products to their portfolio. But this time we have taken a different leap and presented the current trends in the industry and showcased how Esbee Electrotech’s products can be used in the digital platform in the future. We are educating the industry on what probably can be altered into our own products which can meet future digital needs.

How are the recent product developments adding value to your company?

Currently, it is difficult to assess. But our prime objective is to get at least 10 per cent sales from the products developed within 24 months. We aim to develop products which are going to align with our core business. We are looking at constant innovation and providing our customers ‘solutions’, rather than just the ‘products’.

Post Covid-19, the demand for Industry 4.0-enabled products have increased. What is your take on the statement?

Covid-19 was an era which everyone wants to forget about. But the pandemic era has taught us one thing that is the products have to become smarter now. They have to cater to the requirements that could emerge out of an emergency; they have to be more contactless, connective, sustainable and long-run. A sustainable and green approach is a priority now. After Covid, we have seen the market rise up and it has stabilised. Eventually, we are looking at good days now.

How do you see the market at present?

I am very optimistic about the market. I feel that there is a huge potential for people who are quality-driven, safety driven and innovative. It will benefit the people looking to develop an entire supply chain management and are not just focused on sales and manufacturing.

What are Esbee Electrotech's growth plans for the coming years?

Our core approach towards growth has always been very holistic. We always believe that every aspect of the business has to expand equally. On one hand, we are expanding our market base, and on the other, we are also putting our energy and resources to expand our facilities. At the same time, we are also enhancing back-end supply chain functions. If to state in numbers, we believe that we will cross the growth rate of 25-30 per cent year on year in the coming 2-3 years.
