Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer and flagship of the Shiva Group of Industries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bodal Chemicals Ltd for the acquisition of around 8 acres of land in Rajpura, Punjab. The land, purchased from Bodal Chemicals, will host a state-of-the-art specialty chemical manufacturing facility. Shivtek will invest Rs 50 crore in land acquisition and in establishing Phase I and Phase II of the new plant.

This strategic acquisition strengthens Shivtek’s presence in Northern and Eastern India, in line with its green chemistry and export-oriented growth roadmap. Located adjacent to Bodal’s chemical facility, the new plant will receive chlorine via a direct pipeline, enhancing supply chain efficiency, operational safety, and sustainability by reducing logistics costs and carbon emissions.

The facility will focus on producing chlorinated paraffin, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and green plasticisers—products that align with rising demand for sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics and rubber. This initiative supports Shivtek’s strategy of vertical integration and eco-friendly product innovation.

Amitt Nenwani, Managing Director, Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, said, “Partnering with Bodal Chemicals reflects our shared vision to build efficient, future-ready, and sustainable chemical ecosystems. Rajpura’s strategic location offers growth opportunities in the region while proximity to Bodal’s chlorine facility enhances operational and environmental efficiency. This acquisition will also accommodate future expansions as part of our long-term green innovation strategy.”

For Bodal Chemicals, the arrangement optimises land utilisation while securing a steady, nearby buyer for chlorine, a by-product of its caustic soda operations. Ankit Patel, Executive Director, Bodal Chemicals Ltd, said, “This MoU is a strategic collaboration that ensures sustainable chlorine offtake, operational continuity, and long-term growth for both companies.”

The Rajpura plant complements Shivtek’s manufacturing network across Rajpura (North), Dahej (West), and Kurnool (South), enabling faster domestic supply and improved export readiness. The project will generate significant local employment during Phase I and integrate solar power, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, and advanced emissions control, complying with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF) standards.

Commissioning of the plant is subject to MoEF clearances, with operations expected to start by late 2026 or Q4 FY27. This collaboration marks a milestone in Shivtek’s journey towards becoming a leading green chemical manufacturer in South Asia.

Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, founded in 1987 by Shiv Kumar Nenwani and now led by Amitt Nenwani and Kashiish Nenwani, delivers innovative, sustainable solutions for pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and industrial coatings. Headquartered in Gurugram, Shivtek operates globally, with facilities in Kurnool, Rajpura, and Dahej, and exports to over 75 countries.

Bodal Chemicals Ltd, with consolidated revenue above Rs 17 billion, is among India’s largest integrated chemical companies. With eight manufacturing facilities across three states and a strong global footprint, Bodal serves over 35 countries with a diverse portfolio spanning dyestuffs, dye intermediates, basic chemicals, chlor alkali, benzene derivatives, and water treatment chemicals.
