The meter seal - designed for energy, water, and gas meters - provides high security to smart meters. The seal is provided in pre-locked condition having unique locking mechanism and do not have any scope for pre-tampering the seal before installation. Another common problem with the old meter seal is difficulty in reading seal number from the dark backgrounds. Safcon's smart security seal is provided with serial number on white background which enables easy to read installed seal number and prevent any possibility of error in reading. In addition, the seal is provided with DPM 2D data matrix barcode having seal number and utility’s security ID to read seal number and security ID digitally by smartphone or barcode scanner. Encrypted secret code is provided on each seal to discourage duplicate fake seal and creating barrier to defeat the meter seal and prevent power theft. Smart security seal's unique robust locking mechanism provides highest protection to utility meters. 

Smart security seal is manufactured from especially formulated UV stabilised polycarbonate material and AISI 304/316 grade non-corrosive, non-magnetic stainless-steel wire. The seal can be deployed for 15-20 years without degradation from ultraviolet rays, moisture, rust, and changes in temperature. Smart security seal can easily be tracked by smartphone or barcode reader and reduce any chance of manual manipulation of records. Smart security seal is provided with DPM 2D data matrix barcode which is directly engraved on seal itself and enables foolproof reading, recording and verification of serial number with smartphone or handheld scanner. Combination of DPM barcode, embossed security ID, encrypted secret code makes it impossible for counterfeiters for replacing the original seals with fake/duplicate seals.
