The Heavy Engineering business vertical of L&T signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Holtec International’s Asia arm, the US-based nuclear energy solutions provider, to offer design & build solutions for Heat Transfer Equipment.

This collaboration builds on L&T's existing partnership with Holtec for the global deployment of the SMR-300 (Small Modular Reactor). This is supported by the prestigious 810 Authorisation granted to L&T by the US’s Department of Energy.

The strategic collaboration will combine L&T’s world-class nuclear manufacturing capabilities and Holtec’s pioneering design expertise, to deliver cutting-edge solutions for nuclear and thermal power plants worldwide, especially Heat Transfer Solutions for conventional power plant island and balance of plant.

Commenting on the partnership, Anil Parab, Whole-time Director & Senior EVP–Heavy Engineering & CE & IPDD, L&T, said, “Post the COVID pandemic, energy security emerged as a strategic need, with more than 32 countries having committed to triple their nuclear power generation capacity.
