CEAT has partnered with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited (CleanMax) to source renewable power through an approximately 59 MW hybrid wind–solar project for CEAT’s Halol facility in Gujarat and Kanchipuram facility in Tamil Nadu under a group captive model. CleanMax, a Brookfield-backed company, is currently the largest renewable energy provider for India’s commercial and industrial sector.

The hybrid structure combines the complementary generation profiles of wind and solar to deliver consistent energy output and a higher plant load factor (PLF). This configuration also enhances grid stability, which is critical for energy-intensive manufacturing operations.

Together, the projects are expected to generate approximately 135.8 million units of clean power annually. This generation is projected to reduce CO? emissions by around 1,00,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to planting nearly 4.5 million trees annually. The initiative is expected to raise CEAT’s clean power content to about 60 per cent.

Roopesh R., Senior Vice President – Procurement, CEAT, said, ‘This long-term partnership with CleanMax enables CEAT to strengthen its renewable energy footprint across Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Sustainability is central to our long-term planning, and we remain committed to responsible growth while building resilience for the future. As we continue to advance initiatives such as green sourcing, sustainable transportation, biodegradable packaging, sustainable manufacturing and reduced distribution emissions, integrating hybrid wind–solar power is a natural progression in our sustainability journey.

‘These projects will deliver cost efficiencies at our key manufacturing facilities and support our efforts to produce tyres with a lower carbon footprint, setting a benchmark for the industry.’

Kuldeep Jain, Managing Director, CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited, said, ‘We are pleased to collaborate with CEAT, a globally recognised automotive brand, to support its sustainability objectives by enabling decarbonisation across key manufacturing hubs. These projects demonstrate how structured partnerships can accelerate renewable energy adoption and build a more sustainable energy future for large-scale manufacturing.’

The partnership supports CEAT’s sustainability goals while leveraging CleanMax’s expertise in renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sector. It is expected to enhance CEAT’s energy security, improve operational efficiency and deliver significant annual reductions in carbon emissions, supporting the company’s long-term journey towards net-zero op
