In a major boost to India’s aviation infrastructure, Air India and Airbus have inaugurated a state-of-the-art pilot training centre in Gurugram. The joint venture aims to train over 5,000 new pilots in the coming decade, strengthening the nation’s aviation capabilities.

The Advanced Pilot Training Centre, located within the Air India Aviation Training Academy, was officially inaugurated on Tuesday by Union Minister of Civil Aviation, K Rammohan Naidu. Spanning 12,000 square metres, the facility houses 10 full-flight simulators (FFSs), along with advanced classrooms and briefing rooms.

The launch comes as Air India, under the Tata Group’s ownership since 2022, embarks on a significant fleet expansion following its order of 570 new aircraft. The new training hub is expected to play a key role in developing skilled pilots to support the airline’s ambitious growth and India’s fast-evolving aviation ecosystem.
