B. M. Water Meters, a CRISIL Certified company, is engaged in manufacturing and exporting of mechanical & electromagnetic water flow meters under brand names of Kranti, Kushal & Belanto. It has a state of the art manufacturing facility and in-house designing & testing facility. We are about to add more production lines. Our goal is to achieve number one position in South Asia market in short span of coming times.

 

How is the market for water meters in India?

As we all know that decreasing level of groundwater and overall crisis of drinking water is knocking doors of the world, and situation is going bad to worst day by day .It is must to make assure that proper flow & distribution of this precious asset without any leakage & waste during process of lifting from deep-well and distribution process. While right type of pump is required for proper lifting, suitable valve is needed to prevent loss & wastage in pipe line during distribution. Since governments & other authorities are working hard to create awareness among farmers, users and people about genuine consumption of water, market of water meter is expected boom in the near future. Our water meters keep precise check on every liter of water passes through pipe line. In other words, we can say that water meter is the most important device of any pipe line. 

 

Along with pumps & valves, the market size of water meters is also ready for upcoming challenge and to enjoy increased share of sales in the market.

We are engaged in production of products such as  Kranti make mechanical bulk enclosed (spiral) type, flange end, class-“A” water meters from line size 40 mm to 1000 mm for cold & hot water applications; Kranti make mechanical Woltman (removable mechanism) type with magnetic drive, Class-“B” water meters for cold & hot water applications; Kranti make mechanical Woltman (removable mechanism) type with magnetic drive, Class-“B” PULSE OUT-PUT water meters; Kranti make “T”-type dirt-boxes (strainers) flange type from Line Size 40mm to 1000mm; Belanto make mechanical screwed (domestic) Type IS:779 & Class-“B” of ISO:4064 from line Size 15 mm to 50 mm; and Kushal make ultrasonic water flow meters.

 

Our products used by water, refineries, petrochemicals, sugar, textile, paper, ETP plants, dairy, vegetable oils, other commercial and industrial applications, along with water supply & sewerage boards, irrigation departments of state governments.

 

What are the key challenges before manufacturers of water meters?

High cost of raw material & labour, shortage in power supply, and lots of rules & regulations imposed by various authorities are some of key challenges.

 

Now a days, Pumps are becoming smarter. How are you tapping this trend? 

We offer ‘PULSE OUT PUT’ and AMR (Automated Meter Reading) devices, which are smart enough to provide remote reading on your computer or mobile phone. So, in other words, we are prepared to cater the smart consumer with our smarter product.

 

Can India become a manufacturing hub for water meters?

Some of the foreign players are present in the market with their manufacturing facility in India. So we are proud to say that India is becoming a manufacturing hub for pumps, valves & water meters.

What are the growth plans for your company?

For next three years, we are committed to achieve annual growth rate of 10-15 per cent. Our medium term goal (five to ten years) is to achieve annual growth rate of 20-25 per cent.
