Kemppi has introduced completely renewed MasterTig product range having numerous enhancements that raise the user experience and the power efficiency to a new level.

 

Kemppi has introduced the completely renewed MasterTig product family. Designed for professional user groups, the MasterTig product range offers a choice of power variants in 230 and 300 A models, which will be complemented in 2020 with 400 and 500 A models. The new MasterTig products carry numerous enhancements that raise the user experience and the power efficiency to a new level.MasterTig is already a familiar name in Kemppi’s product selection, but now the MasterTig products are reborn. They have not only been upgraded, but a completely new welding machine has been created for professional welders doing AC and DC TIG welding and MMA welding. 

 

The new MasterTig is designed and constructed from strong, energy absorbing, recyclable plastics, incorporating impact bridge structures that better protect the power source from the everyday knocks of welding life. It also introduces an entirely new way of controlling welding machines. Wizard-like parameter setting and wireless remote controls make the creation of quality welds easy. 

 

Welding machine optimised especially for the user 

MasterTig equipment have been designed from the perspective of the ordinary welder, but the products themselves are far from the ordinary. Thanks to its modular design, the user can create his own MasterTig setup that fits his needs perfectly. The user can choose from a range of MasterTig power models, alternative user interface, remote control options, transport carts and torches. “You can even upload your own favorite image to personalise your MasterTig screen saver,” said John Frost, Product Manager for the new MasterTig family at Kemppi. 

He added that personalisation extends far beyond the screen saver image. For example, MasterTig offers 99 memory channels per process to save the welding job specific parameter or WPS values. Copy or delete and update as needed. It’s fast and simple. 

 

Weld Assist guides user towards productive welding 

Setting the parameters for a TIG welding job can be a cumbersome task, especially for welders with limited experience of TIG welding. To make the machine setup easier for all welders, MasterTig offers a sophisticated user interface with a wizard-like Weld Assist functionality. 

If the user’s MasterTig is equipped with the 7-inch full colour TFT control panel MTP35X, the user do not need to worry about the right parameter settings. Just launch the wizard-like Weld Assist function and follow the simple on-screen steps. Select material, thickness, joint type and welding 2(3) position, and Weld Assist sets the best parameters for the particular welding task. It also gives recommendations for electrode size, filler wire, gas flow, groove type, pass profile and travel speed.Weld Assist guides the novice welders as well as experienced ones towards optimal welding parameters and productive welding. And it is also excellent help for pWPS creation. 

 

Productivity features for enhancing TIG welding 

MasterTig offers a number of high-technology features for enhancing TIG welding. For example, MicroTack is the fast and accurate tacking feature in both DC and AC TIG welding. It is ideal for multiple, repetitive tacking on thin sheet applications, where consistent and controlled appearance is paramount. MicroTack combines precise tacking with minimum heat input.

 

Also, Double Pulse function brings the heat input down. It combines alternative pulse cycles and can improve the welding speed by up to 30 per cent. Lowering distortion levels and weld costs, Double Pulse is ideal for DC hand welding and mechanised applications, and it offers superb weld seam appearance.

 

MasterTig also features a quiet AC TIG waveform option called Optima AC. It is a customised waveform that combines the best of the traditional sine and square waveforms – and adds a touch of magic for the optimal AC welding experience. It reduces the noise level in AC TIG welding by up to 20 per cent, so that the welder can quietly concentrate on quality.

Flexlite TX welding torches

Launched together with the MasterTig product family, Kemppi also presents new Flexlite TX torches featuring high-strength, flexible molded handles for increased comfort and lower welder fatigue. Silicone rubber material in the handle gives a firm grip, and the innovative design reduces wrist loading, allowing the welder to concentrate on the perfect weld. Ready equipped to fit MasterTig in either gas or water-cooled models, Flexlite TX torches are available in alternative power classes and lengths.
