Copeland to invest Rs 5 billion in India for manufacturing and R&D expansion

US-based Copeland, a leader in sustainable climate solutions, has announced a Rs 5 billion investment in India to enhance its manufacturing facility in Atit, Maharashtra, and establish a new global R&D center in Pune.
This investment aims to bolster engineering capabilities, increase production capacity for Copeland's compression solutions, and drive innovation in sustainable heating, cooling, refrigeration, and industrial solutions.
"India is a crucial growth market for Copeland, and this expansion underscores our commitment to both the Indian market and innovation," stated Ross B. Shuster, CEO, Copeland. "These investments will enhance our production capacity and reduce lead times for customers in the region while supporting India's energy and environmental objectives."
The expanded facilities will include an advanced scroll compressor line, catering to both domestic and key international markets. The introduction of Copeland's award-winning scroll compressors will enhance cooling and refrigeration technologies for customers in India. Additionally, the company's expanded R&D investments will contribute to a sustainable and innovative future, aligning with global trends such as energy transition, the adoption of low-GWP and natural refrigerants, and the preservation of perishable food and medical products through efficient cold chain solutions.
