HFCL to supply critical drone sub-systems for General Atomics ASI

Home-grown telecom company HFCL has been selected by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Incorporated (GA-ASI) to develop and supply essential sub-systems for its advanced unmanned aircraft systems. This announcement highlights HFCL's technical capabilities and commitment to innovation in the defense technology sector.

HFCL is focusing on developing drone detection radar, a vital component of modern drone surveillance systems. The partnership represents a significant milestone for HFCL as it steps into the realm of one of the world’s most advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The company’s subsidiary, Raddef, specialises in creating portable and deployable radar and radio frequency solutions suitable for various terrains. 

Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director, HFCL, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, "Our selection by GA-ASI to develop critical sub-systems for UAVs reflects our steadfast commitment to the Make in India initiative. These versatile drones embody our dedication to providing the defense forces with cutting-edge technology."

In addition to telecom equipment, HFCL is also engaged in research and development across a range of radar technologies, including ground surveillance, weather monitoring, threat emulation, LTE-based passive radars, and more.
