Drum Dumpers

Many industries receive products in circular drums of varying capacities from 10 litre to 300 litre or more. The emptying of these drums by manual handling into downstream process is cumbersome and leads to operator injuries on prolonged activity. Scorpio Engineering introduces a drum lifter/dumper, designed for fully automatic emptying of drums, barrels, etc, into downstream equipment and vessels. The operator has to only position the drum on the equipment platform subsequent to which all operations are automatic. Especially for the pharmaceutical industry where powders are to be handled in sterile environment and where many powders are harmful to humans on contact, the fully automatic (if required), fully enclosed operation of automatic drum lifting and tilting is a useful application. The unit is operated by hydraulic cylinders and can lift drums up to 10 m vertically before tipping the drum over into process equipment or storage vessels. The operation is fully sealed and enclosed with no powder coming in contact with the operator and without any powder leakage from any point. Models are available for various drum sizes and for basic drum sealing and tilting operation to vertical elevation and drum tilting applications. The unit is supplied fully asseinbled and ready for use.
