Bulk Truck/Tanker

Scorpio bulk tankers are coded pressure vessels. They are available in standard sizes of 10 m? , 15 m? , 18 m? and 22 m? . The exact size depends on the distance of transportation and other economic considerations. These bulk trucks are available in mild steel and in stainless steel and are offered depending on the material properties. The maximum pressure rating is kept at 2 bar from the point of view of operation, maintenance and safety. This low pressure rating also offers the advantage of a thinner wall section so that the pay load can be maximized. The bulk truck is of cylindro-conical design with dish ends on either side. The number of filling hatches vary from 2 to 4, depending on the volume of the tanker and the material being loaded. These vessels consist of a special fluidizing arrangement which fluidizes the material while unloading from the tanker. The vessel is fitted with pressure safety relief valve, pressure gauge, air inlet valve and material outlet valves. Provisions are made on the air inlet and material outlet side to quickly connect and disconnect the air hose and the discharge hose respectively, by means of quick release couplings. These tankers are mounted on standard Tata/Ashok Leyland chassis with U-clamps. The vessel itself can very easily be unhooked from the chassis.
