Conveyors, Aero-Mechanical Type

Scorpio Engineering offers aero-mechanical conveyors for applications which are too large in elevation and tonnages for the spiral conveyor and which are too small for pneumatic conveying. This equipment can be used to transfer dry powdered material from ground level to overhead elevations up to 20 m and for tonnage up to 30 TPH, depending on bulk density and flowability of the material. The principle of operation of the aero-mechanical conveyor depends on the production of a moving airstream within enclosed tubes. Material is fed into the updraft tube where it gets entrained in the airstream generated and the material discharges at the discharge head on the top while the airstream returns through the downdraft tube and keeps circulating. The airstream is established by means of a series of evenly spaced discs fitted on a wire rope which moves at relatively high velocities within the up and downdraft tubes as an endless assembly. Specially designed discharge and feed end pulleys enable the disc/rope assembly to be mounted between them as an endless chain unit. The aeromechanical conveyor can be fitted together in various configurations and does not necessarily have to feed from ground elevation to top elevation. The assembly can be configured to feed to multiple receiving hoppers which can be either inline or in non-straight line layouts. A range of materials can be handled including food products, detergents, chemical compounds, etc.
