Hot Melt Glue Sticks

Hot melt glue sticks, 11 mm dia are extensively used worldwide in packaging, toy manufacture, electronics, artificial flowers and DIY applications. These glue sticks are easy to use and require only a heated glue gun, which is inexpensive, easily available in most countries and is a household item. Generally, a 300 mm long glue stick is inserted in the glue gun. The glue gun is connected to a 220 V power source. A heater in the glue gun melts the glue rod and this melted glue can then be dispensed through a trigger operation. The combination of the glue gun and glue stick is, therefore, a very simple method of joining/gluing different substrates. The ease of operation has made this type of a glue application system extremely popular worldwide.

The imported glue sticks commonly available in the market do not always meet the requirements of users as regards temperature resistance, viscosity and adhesion. It is this gap that the company is attempting to fill.
Guidelines for glue stick selection:

• For filling small gaps use glue sticks having low viscosity
• Glue sticks made from high viscosity adhesives will drip less
• Use high softening point glue stick when assembled product is likely to be exposed to direct sunlight/ high ambient temperatures
• Use high wattage glue guns for high softening point glue sticks
• Use glue stick with low open time for fast setting/drying
• Use high open time glue sticks for slower operations
