Centrifugal Oil Cleaner

CbS Technologies offers a Centrifugal Oil Cleaner. This is a mechanical device, which purifies oil by centrifugal force action, many times more effectively than any other filtration method. The mating surfaces of machine elements in relative motion are separated by a very thin oil film formation at contact. The film thickness generally happens to be of the order of microns. If lubricating oil incorporates dirt in the form of contaminants, debris, etc., it will destroy the protecting layer of lubricating film over the mating surfaces of machine parts, which will further multiply component wear and premature failure of the system. The big advantage of the centrifuge is its ability to remove very finer particles of the order of one-tenth of a micron by centrifugal action. The centrifugal oil cleaner consists of three major parts: body, rotor and drive chamber. The Body contains the rotor and drive chamber. It facilitates easy fixing of the whole centrifuge to the machine, viz., engine, industrial equipments, etc., with oil drain at the bottom of the centrifuge. The dirt removing Rotor has a removable bowl to facilitate easy cleaning of the sludge. The contaminated oil from the machine enters the centrifuge body through the hollow spindle where it is evenly distributed. The oil in the chamber gains high whirling velocity due to conversion of pressure energy of the chamber into kinetic energy by base fitted nozzles of the drive chamber. The resulting centrifugal force continuously throws the dirt particles radially outwards to the wall of the rotor. It is very easy to remove compact sludge from the wall surface of rotor bowl. The clean oil leaves the pressure chamber through the perforated plate and enters the Drive Chamber. The oil comes out from the drive chamber in the form of jet from nozzle before going to the oil sump. This jet action causes spinning of the rotor at very high speeds in the order of 7000 RPM.
