Wheel Balancer, Fully Automatic

Schmitt fully automatic wheel balancer can be easily installed on all Cincinnati Twin Grip Centreless Grinders - RK Series, AE, Models 230, 325, 340, 440, 460. The SBS Dynamic Balance System can accurately monitor and routinely balance the grinding wheel/spindle assembly below 0.000008" (0.2 micron peak to peak displacement), vibration amplitude during machine operation. This is a rugged and reliable system designed and built of the highest quality materials to survive in the grinding environment. Wheel balance is maintained even after shutdown. Compensation is sufficient that no pre-balancing is necessary with new wheels. The system comes with a microprocessor-based controller and facilitates easy wheel change. All Twin Grip machines use an electrical connection in the front of the machine. A quick ? turn military type connector is used for convenience, with special polyurethane sheathed cable for durability. Basic operation: When the balancer control measures a vibration amplitude that exceeds the programmed high tolerance, a red indicator light on the control panel is lit, and a signal is sent to the CNC interface. If this occurs during a dwell prior to a dress cycle, the automatic balance cycle can be initiated either manually or automatically via the machine control, and runs until the wheel is balanced to the programmed limit. High and low vibration amplitude limits and the balance cycle time limit are programmed into the SBS controller. The high tolerance setting determines when balancing is required. The low limit is the target value, which represents an acceptable balancing result. Initial values are determined, and set at the factory. These values can be easily changed in the field to suit the job requirements.
