Thermal Protection Cut-Outs

Portex Technologies offers self-resetting Thermal Protection Cut-Outs, Models PCTW and PCTL. These are designed for sensing temperature rise of flat surfaces like heat sinks, rectifier stacks, diodes, SCRs and other power electronic components. The outer body is thermoplastic material with a copper base for quick heat transfer to the internal operating mechanism thereby ensuring fast response to temperature rise. The internal mechanism is all spot welded on a stainless steel housing plate. Fully sealed, the cut-outs are available for any trip temperature required from 60ºC to 120ºC. PCTW has lead wires with Teflon insulation. PCTL is available with bare legs for PCB applications. These can be mounted on any flat surface with one screw (hole dia 3.3 mm). Applications: use of this model is recommended in applications where temperatures of flat surfaces are to be sensed, i.e., heat sinks, rectifier stacks, diodes, and power electronics components, thyristors and SCRs, bakelite moulds, strip heaters, etc., and all other applications which require sensing of the temperature of flat surfaces. End shields of motors can be fitted with this model to protect against bearing failure and also winding overheat.
