General Instruments Corporation offers a 100 X illuminated microscope from Panasonic, Japan. This is a portable light weight, pocket size microscope. One tube contains batteries and the other, a precision 100 X microscope. The light is activated by unfolding the instrument body. The new compact microscope is for research students, scientists and engineers, useful for medical use for scientists in labwork, for agriculture and forestry research, for printing, textile trade, for lapidary and geological work. Also industrial use for checking surface finish, pinholes, millscale, cracks, defects, etc.
