Flexible machining centre

This is a machine that can be used as: a full fledged horizontal or vertical machining centre; or a full fledged horizontal or vertical multi spindle centre, by set up change, which takes 15 minutes. Features: main base, column and other structures are made of thermally stable welded steel fabrications for static and dynamic rigidity; structures are double stress during manufacturing cycle to ensure dimensional stability over the life of the machine; flexible head stock is a rigid modular mono block designed to adopt both in vertical and horizontal machining configurations; housing is made of thermally stable cast iron to absorb heavy machining loads under exotic cutting conditions; CNC slides are with linear motion antifriction guides and ball screws driven by low inertia, high torque AC servo motors of 30 Nm; heavy load carrying capacity LM guide ways with pre-loaded rollers; pre-tensioned ball screws with large DN value (1,20,000) are mounted on precision angular contact bearings to achieve high speed (3000 RPM) of ball screw; ball screws are coupled to AC servo motors through backlash-free torsionally rigid all-steel flexible couplings for safe torque transmission even at high speeds; absolute feedback encoders for all axes; for precise positioning accuracy and reliability, all axes are laser calibrated; rapid traverse rates of 50 m/min; ATC suitable to use both in horizontal and vertical configuration; simple and reliable as tools are directly picked by spindle; and servomotor with absolute feed back encoder for fast and reliable indexing tool changer.
