Continuous Media Sterilization Units

Navin Process System offers Continuous Media Sterilization Units. These are suitable for a wide range of fermentor media, ranging from molasses for yeast & ethanol fermentation, up to sensitive media for antibiotics & vaccines. Advantages: nutritive value of media is less affected since it is subjected to high temperature for a shorter time; sterilization cycle time is less hence turnaround time is shortened; sterilization parameters can be controlled more precisely. The system is custom-designed on a case-to-case basis, & can involve some or all of the following operations: media mixing &/or dilution- Continuous (on-line) mode- Batch mode; prefiltration- coarse separation- fine separation; sterilization- heating type- indirect type without agitation- indirect type with agitation - contact type without agitation- contact type with agitation- non-heating type- sterile filtration- ultraviolet treatment- combination of both; holding at sterilization temperature; cooling; aseptic transfer to fermentor. Salient features: suitable for fermentors of 1 to 1000 kL capacity; proper design/selection of heat exchanger module to suit different media & process conditions; on-line monitoring & control of process parameters such as temperature, flow, pressure, density, etc.; PU foam insulation provided for safety & energy conservation; adequate safety devices installed for operator safety; PC-based process control with SCADA fermentation software available and cGMP-compliant version available.
