Machining Spindle Units For Drilling, Milling, Boring Applications

Suhner India has introduced modular machining spindles types Bex15 and Bex35, which are high precision turning spindles designed to speeds up to 23500 RPM. The standard spindles and tool holder options are ER25, ISO30, HSK, ABS and Weldon. All spindle options are available with coolant through the spindle option. The spindle can be used for drilling application in steel (600 N/mm²) from 0.8 mm till 35 mm diameter. In view of high precision close to 5 microns the above spindle can also be used for boring applications with close tolerances. Also rigidity and torque up to 300 Nm for the units can take care of loads for various milling applications. For high speed machining like piston oil hole drilling, fuel injection parts, electronic components, wheel cylinders, etc., the unit BEX15 is mounted on slide UA30-200 mm stroke, which is powered either by hydraulic, servo, or pneumo-hydraulic means. Suhner BEX15 high speed precision spindle has a concentricity less than 10 microns and is capable of running at 23,500 RPM using a frequency converter. This spindle is ideally designed for usage of solid carbide. The main advantages are: with 5 different tool holders many different applications can be served; make real use of carbide tool; less vibrations and high precision, long life time in view of sturdy design and reinforced bearing option; and high cutting speed with spindle speed matches tool.
