Emcom Instruments offers a handheld oscilloscope, Model Visual DMM 740 from a reputed overseas manufacturer. This is a Scope plus true RMS digital multi meter, two instruments in one! It is possible to view industrial signals such as motor control, UPS, switching power supply, and PLC controls with the detail and clarity of up to five times that of other similar products with its 1 MHz DC oscilloscope bandwidth. The fastest sampling rate in its class, 25 mega samples per second, provides the ability to capture noise spikes, glitches and those evasive intermittents that one cannot see with lower performance products. Real time sampling insures information would not be missed. The display is continually updated, giving a live presentation. Frequency counter feature measures signals up to 2 MHz including those selectable with cursors such as noise, distortion, etc. Component Test of the 740 Visual DMM provides AC stimulus signal to the component and plots the voltage drop against the current measurement. It is possible to use Logic Test feature to indicate stuck low, stuck high or active signal lines. Other functions include optional opto-isolated RS-232C port that provides waveform and data transfer including archiving, processing, and report generation. Major applications include viewing of start-up inrush currents, power quality like monitoring of noise on industrial-feeds, AC voltage wave shape, current waveforms, PLCs, NC machines, UPS, audio, video, etc.
