Datalogging Sound Level Meter

Baseline Technologies offers a Datalogging Sound Level Meter, Model 2511, with data storage on the pendrive. Introduced by Cygnet, this memory based hand-held sound level meter can be used for datalogging of sound pressure levels exponentially averaged values (Leq) over the range of 30-134dB. It can be used for environmental sound level monitoring, such as is required under the Environmental Protection Act, or the Factories Act. It is a Type 1 (precision) instrument as per IS 9779, with calibration traceable to National Physical Laboratory – New Delhi, and thus its readings have full evidentiary value. Its rechargeable battery can provide power for up to 24 hours. The instrument logs data of time v/s dB(A) on a pendrive as a CSV file which can be opened in the PC as an Excel sheet, obviating the need for data transfer or any special software. It is also possible to make a .ODB file, which is readable in the company’s software DL03 and allows the user to view or print the data as a table or a graph, and also to compute various statistical parameters like Leq, Ln, Lmax, Lmin, SEL, etc. It also presents a histogram of all readings, and all these can be printed. It can also port the data into a worksheet. It is also possible to pre-program the instrument to log data at pre-designated time with pre-designated range up to 8 times in a day, and to repeat this pattern everyday. A small portable thermal printer is also offered as an optional extra for direct printing of Summary Reports on the spot without the need for a PC. The instrument is indigenously produced with full logistical support in India.
