T5 Tubes

Linear Technologies India Private Limited manufactures T5 tubes with a lifetime of 15000 hours. T5 is a slimmer 16 mm diameter tube light that uses minimum of earth?s mineral sources due to its small size. The fluorescent power used is of tri-band rare earth minerals. The coating is done using HBT process that uses only water as against chemicals used in old technology. The efficiency of the tube is further enhanced using soft preheat start electronics ballast. Total system power with ballast is around 30 Watts with 28W T5 tube at 240V AC input whereas light output for system is 97 lumen/watt of power consumed as compared to 40 lumens/watt of conventional fat 40W tube. Since it operates at high (typically 30 KHz) frequency, it increases productivity without eye fatigue. As the power loss is only in the region of 1-3 watts over its operating voltage range of 150-280 Volts, it does not cause blackening of walls whereas air-conditioning load is considerably reduced. It starts instantly with soft glow without causing starting flickers and can start with input voltages as low as 150 Volts. It does not produce any annoying hum due to solid-state electronics circuit guaranteed for 1 year. The system power factor is very high about 0.95 making external power factor correction redundant and making maximum use of the efficiency of generated power by electricity boards or in house generators/invertors. It consumes 1 unit of electricity when used for 33 hours of operation as against 18 hours of operation of a conventional tube light.
