Programmable Scanner

V-Scan is a programmable, multi-channel, microprocessor based, low cost process indicator/scanner/data logger. It can accept either current (0-20 mA) or voltage (0-1 V) inputs. Other inputs can be provided on request. The scanned channels are displayed with a 4-digit accuracy. Only the required channels can be enabled for scanning. The unit has an RS-232 O/P with programmable baud rates and can be used to output the data to a mini printer or to a computer. The display scan rate and the print intervals are programmable from 1 sec to 9999 secs. The enabled channels are scanned at a rate of 1 ch/sec, irrespective of the programmed display or print intervals. The scanned data is displayed along with the channel number and sent to the printer or PC at specified intervals. The instrument can be operated in auto mode (where the selected channels are automatically scanned at specified intervals) or in manual mode (the user can manually select the required channel). In the manual mode, the selected channel is scanned at a higher rate of approximately 3 readings/sec. Provision exists for linearisation of the input data by means of look-up table which can be preprogrammed in an EPROM. The scanner configuration is saved in non-volatile memory so that the power failures do not alter its set-up. The unit is housed in a 96 mm x 96 mm x 175 mm DIN enclosure. It is offered in four models with 4 channels, 8 channels, 12 channels and 16 channels of input.
