Safety Light Curtain

Scientific Technologies Inc (STI), has introduced a revolutionary, advanced Safety Light Curtain, MiniSafe MS4600. It offers as standard all of the most required safety light curtain features, and is designed to provide convenient and easy installation, alignment, programming and usage. This advanced light curtain is of a simple "two-box"design-the transmitter and receiver are not physically connected, the transmitter requires only 24 V DC (all other connections are made at the receiver), it has solid state outputs, and requires no bulky controller box. It features STI's exclusive individual beam indicators which simplify long-range alignment and operation. A visible LED adjacent to each infrared beam indicates the alignment status. If the beam is not aligned, the LED glows red. Standard features include Exact Channel Select which allows the detection zone to have permanently blocked beams. This is necessary if tooling or machine parts must permanently obstruct a portion of the zone. When process material or parts must travel through the detection zone, the Floating Blanking feature allows up to two beams to be blocked anywhere in the zone. There are a few additional features as well. The curtain also has optional DeviceNet for communication of vital-system information across the DeviceNet interface. This allows a DeviceNet equipped machine control or PLC to monitor the status of the MS4600 system.
